Ingredients

  • 1 ⅔ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¾ cups warm water
  • ½ tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup chopped green onions
  • ½ teaspoon dried garlic
  • 1 tablespoon oil sesame or sunflower

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Batter

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, warm water, sugar, salt, chopped green onions, dried garlic, and oil. Stir well until the batter becomes smooth and lump-free. It should have a thin, pourable consistency, similar to pancake batter.

Step 2: Let the Batter Rest

  • Cover the bowl and let the batter sit for about 20 minutes. This resting period allows the flour to fully absorb the liquid, improving the texture of the flatbreads.

Step 3: Heat the Pan

  • Place a non-stick or well-seasoned skillet over medium heat and allow it to warm up for 4–5 minutes. A properly heated pan ensures even cooking and prevents sticking.

Step 4: Cook the Flatbreads

  • Pour a ladleful of batter into the center of the pan, then quickly spread it into a thin, even layer. Let it cook for about 1 minute, then flip. Continue flipping every minute, about 4–5 times, until fully cooked and lightly golden.
  • Gently press the edges to push air pockets toward the center. Some flatbreads may puff up completely.

Step 5: Serve & Store

  • Remove the cooked flatbread from the pan and place it on a plate. Repeat the process with the remaining batter. Store the flatbreads in an airtight bag to keep them soft and flexible for later use.
  • Enjoy them warm as a wrap, snack, or alongside your favorite dips!
