  • 8 Eggs – large fresh eggs at room temperature for a light and fluffy texture.
  • 200 g Flour – all-purpose flour for a soft and airy cake.
  • 35 g Cocoa Powder – unsweetened cocoa powder for a rich chocolate flavor.
  • 200 g Sugar – granulated sugar to sweeten the cake.
  • 5 tbsp Oil – vegetable or sunflower oil to keep the cake moist.

For the Cream & Topping:

  • 500 g Mascarpone – for a creamy and smooth frosting.
  • 350 ml Cooking Cream – to make the frosting light and fluffy.
  • 100 g Powdered Sugar – for a perfectly sweet and velvety frosting.
  • Food Coloring – A few drops of pink or red to add a romantic touch.
  • Strawberries – Fresh chopped strawberries for garnish and extra sweetness.
  • Blueberries – A handful of fresh blueberries to add a pop of color.
  • Blackberries – For a slightly tart contrast and elegant decoration.
  • Mint Leaves – To add a refreshing and decorative touch.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chocolate Cake

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together using an electric mixer for about 5 minutes, until the mixture becomes pale and fluffy.
  • Sift in the flour and cocoa powder, then gently fold them into the egg mixture to keep it airy. Slowly add the oil and continue folding until fully combined. Pour the batter into the prepared tray and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely before cutting heart shapes using a cookie cutter.

Step 2: Prepare the Cream

  • In a bowl, whisk together the mascarpone, cooking cream, and powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy. Add a few drops of food coloring and mix until evenly colored.
  • Transfer the cream into a piping bag with a star nozzle.

Step 3: Assemble the Cakes

  • Take two heart-shaped cake layers. Pipe a layer of mascarpone frosting onto one heart. Sprinkle a generous amount of chopped strawberries over the frosting for a juicy, fruity surprise. Place the second cake layer on top and gently press it down.
  • Pipe additional frosting on top of the second cake layer.
  • Garnish with strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and fresh mint leaves.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!

  • These Little Chocolate Heart Cakes are perfect for special occasions like Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, or birthdays. Serve fresh and enjoy the delightful combination of chocolate, berries, and creamy frosting! ???
