A plate full of Chocolate Fruit Waffles

Chocolate Fruit Waffles

Sweet Family Meals
There’s not a whole lot to explain here. It’s a waffle. It’s a pancake. It’s both. And then it’s drenched in warm chocolate and buried under a pile of fresh fruit like it’s some kind of edible crown. It’s basically dessert pretending to be breakfast, and I’m not complaining. It makes mornings feel like a celebration, and honestly, that’s the kind of energy I want before facing emails or laundry. Still, for waffles like these? Totally worth it. Especially with the chocolate. Always the chocolate.

Ingredients

For the waffle batter:

  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet vanilla cream powder approx. 40 g
  • 1 packet baking powder approx. 10–12 g

For the chocolate sauce:

  • Dark chocolate about 100 g, or to taste
  • A few tablespoons of milk adjust for desired consistency

For serving:

  • Fresh fruits such as bananas, strawberries, berries – sliced or as desired

Instructions

Step 1: Cut the fruits

  • Start by cutting your fresh fruits into round slices, or any shape you prefer. You can use strawberries, bananas, or any other fruits you enjoy. Set them aside, ready for garnishing.

Step 2: Make the cream and bake the waffles

  • Make the vanilla cream: In a small bowl, prepare the vanilla cream according to the package instructions. This usually involves mixing the cream powder with a little bit of milk until it forms a smooth, creamy texture.
  • Prepare the waffle batter:
  • Beat the eggs with the sugar in a large bowl until the mixture becomes light and slightly frothy.
  • Add the oil and milk to the bowl and stir well to combine.
  • Gradually sift in the flour and baking powder, mixing gently. Then, add the prepared vanilla cream and continue to stir until the batter is smooth and free from lumps.
  • Cook the waffles:
  • Preheat your waffle maker or non-stick pan over medium heat. Lightly grease the pan if necessary.
  • Pour a small ladle of batter into the waffle maker or pan, making sure it's evenly spread. Cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp on both sides, following the waffle maker's instructions or flipping the pancakes in the pan once they are golden on one side.

Step 3: Prepare the chocolate sauce

  • Break the dark chocolate into small pieces and place them in a small saucepan.
  • Add a little milk to the pan and heat over low heat, stirring constantly until the chocolate has completely melted and formed a smooth, glossy sauce.

Step 4: Assemble and decorate

  • Once your waffles are cooked, place them on a plate.
  • Pour the chocolate sauce: Drizzle the warm chocolate sauce over the waffles, creating thin, delicate lines across the surface for a decorative touch.
  • Add the fruit: Arrange the fresh fruit slices on top of the waffles, finishing with a few extra decorations if desired.
