Ingredients
  

  • 3 –4 apples
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • Fresh raspberries optional, for garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

Prepare the Apples

  • Cut the apples in half, remove the cores, and slice them thinly.
  • Arrange the slices on a baking tray and bake at 180°C for 5–7 minutes, until slightly softened.
  • Set aside to cool.

Prepare the Puff Pastry

  • Roll out the puff pastry into a thin sheet.
  • Use a heart-shaped cutter to cut out multiple pastry hearts.
  • Gather the excess dough, re-roll, and cut more hearts as needed.

Build the Pastry Baskets

  • Place three pastry hearts in each muffin cup with the pointed ends facing inward.
  • Overlap them slightly to create a basket shape.

Make the Apple Roses

  • Arrange several softened apple slices in a row, slightly overlapping.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar and cinnamon.
  • Roll the slices tightly to form a rose.
  • Place each apple rose into a pastry basket.
  • Repeat until all baskets are filled.

Bake

  • Brush the pastry and apples with beaten egg.
  • Bake at 190°C for 20 minutes, or until golden and crisp.

Serve

  • Decorate with powdered sugar, fresh raspberries, or mint leaves before serving.
  • Enjoy warm!
